Treatment Approaches
The therapeutic approaches I employ most frequently are described below. Our work together will include learning practical emotional regulation strategies; setting achievable goals to build upon; and seeing setbacks as opportunities for growth.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
An evidence based technique that uses alternating bilateral stimulation of the brain to reprocess traumatic memories. We will explore the negative thoughts which are holding you back and utilize EMDR to shift the negative thoughts bringing about a sense of empowerment.
Poly-Vagal Informed
I will assist you in becoming attuned to your nervous system's responses to threat and give you tools to achieve a sense of safety.
